Can We Talk

I was going to write a blog regarding something along the lines of “its hot: best watering holes nearby” or “grab the gang and head to brunch” and then I had a conversation...

It wasn’t a life changing conversation, just a conversation.  I decided to visit my optometrist office in person as opposed to ordering off of the “1-800 I don’t want to talk to anyone, just send me my stuff” option to refill my contact lenses and I had a conversation…with two people…in person!!  I forget how much I like people until I have a random conversation about nothing in particular.  We chatted about why I have not refilled my prescription  yet, if I need new glasses, one of the nice women has a daughter who is considering getting in to real estate in North Carolina so I gave her my card and let her know I am happy to help since I am new to the biz too.  I was asked if I had a few minutes or if I was in a rush.  I did have a few minutes!  Long story short, I ended up saving $185 because I had a conversation as opposed to ordering online.  She let me know of a credit a didn’t even know I had and a manufactures rebate I didn’t even know was available. Wow!!  That would have not happened had I not gone to the store in person AND I had a lovely conversation with two very nice people! Even as I type this, word is directing me to be more concise…nope! Everything is already too concise, too brief, too short.  We barely communicate with words anymore, even texts are turning in to hieroglyphics for brevity sakes!  I am guilty of the text over calling, the facebook message to an old friend over a personal email or phone call.  I use instacart and favor more than I should, but I think I am going to stop…not completely, let’s be real, they are great services…just maybe not as often.  Convenience is great, but I need to be among the living again!  I want things to slow down and I am the only one in my world that can make that happen.  We have some amazing people that live around us.  Let’s get to know each other!! Let's talk now!!  Comment below and let me know about a random conversation you have had recently or something that surprised you from an interaction.  Image title
