Living In Round Rock

I moved to Round Rock as a child, back in 1994. Williamson county is now one of the fastest growing counties in the entire nation. Who would've thought? Back in the 90s Round Rock was completely undeveloped.  My parents still live in Round Rock, and the community has a lot to offer.

Here are some of the main attractions of living in Round Rock

1) Round Rock Independent School District: There are good schools all over the Austin metro area, but RRISD has a very good reputation overall.

2) Easy access to Austin with toll roads 130 and 45. This is not to say there is no traffic, but the toll roads certainly help.

3) Outlet mall: Back when I was a teenager, I had to drive all the way to San Marcos to snag discounts. Now we have a very popular outlet mall and an adjacent IKEA as well.

4) Dell Diamond: Whether you are a baseball fan or not, the Dell Diamond has all kinds of fun events for the family.

5) Parks galore: Round Rock has 37 developed parks that consist of over 2,270 acres and trail corridors. Old Settlers Park is the main event, offering an abundant 640 acres of rolling countryside for local events and festivals.

6) Downtown Round Rock: This is a lively few blocks with bars, restaurants, the public library, and the court house. You can catch live music, comedy, or watch a football game at a sports bar with the local fans.

7) Round Rock is overall more affordable than Austin. Now of course, there are some very expensive homes in Round Rock, but if you are trying to stretch your dollar, Round Rock could be a great place to look.
