Every holiday season there comes a time right after Thanksgiving when my family and I realize that we no longer have the motivation to cook a big Christmas dinner. Between Christmas shopping, holiday parties, and our annual ski trip, we run out of steam and almost always end up eating out on Christmas day.

While most restaurants are closed there are still some really great establishments where you can make last minute reservations. Here is a list of a few restaurants around town offering festive Christmas day meals:

I grew up eating at this iconic Austin restaurant. It is open on Christmas day at both locations. The food is going to be your traditional southern holiday fair, ranging from stuffed turkey and glazed ham, to fried oysters and pecan pie.

This Christmas Day buffet at the Four Seasons Hotel restaurant has everything. My personal favorite offering is the chilled shrimp and crab legs. Hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is also available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Four Seasons Ballroom.

Second Bar + Kitchen

Enjoy a Holiday Rosé Buffet Brunch on both Christmas Eve and Christmas day at Second Bar + Kitchen Domain from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner hours will include al a carte items.

Goodall's Kitchen & Bar

At Hotel Ella, Goodall’s is hosting a Christmas Day buffet from noon to 8 p.m. There website list that a few of their delicious options include slow-roasted prime rib, roasted eggplant lasagna, duchess baked potatoes, and more.

Trace at W Austin will offer a prix-fixe menu from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 25. Call for details because it books up fast!

The Radisson Austin’s restaurant will offer a Christmas Day buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This buffet offers classic holiday dishes that will satisfy anyone looking for a traditional Christmas meal.

Estancia Churrascaria

Estancia is a Brazilian steak house that offers a plethora of delicious meats on skewers and sides. My favorite thing about eating here is there extensive salad bar. Your options are endless!
