Austin Area April Stats
According to the Austin Board of Realtors (ABOR), single-family home sales in the greater Austin area have yet again increased from year-year.
Since April 2016, single-family home sales in the Austin/Round Rock area have increased 3%. During this same time in the City of Austin, number of home sales have increased by over 2%.
Numbers At The County Level From April 2016:
Williamson County - we see the largest jump of home sales at 8.6% increase; prices increased by 7%
Travis County - Single-family home sales were slightly down by 2%; prices however increased by 5%
New home builds continue to be a huge part of the Central Texas housing market. Williamson County alone experienced over 15 percent increase in new home builds since 2016. The cities of Buda and Kyle continue to add several new communities to try and keep up with buyer demands.
I'm expecting sales to be strong again this summer as inventory has greatly increased for the entire Austin area. Active listings for the have increased by over 6,000 homes in April 2017. New home builders are helping to add to this increase as they're catching up to the ever increasing market.
